A Vision to Build for the Future
The Midwest Province is fortunate. Two Jesuit communities serve our senior Jesuits: Colombiere Jesuit Community, in Clarkston, MI, and St. Camillus Jesuit Community, just west of Milwaukee. Both facilities are professionally staffed and each care for 50 – 60 senior Jesuits in need of assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care. In February 2018, the Jesuit Community at St. Camillus moved, from a hospital building built in 1932, to a newly constructed Jesuit Community on the Camillus healthcare campus. Their new surroundings are tailored to senior Jesuit ministry and healthcare. Phase one of the With Others For Others focused on raising capital for the construction. Phase two focuses on the cost of healthcare for senior Jesuits at both facilities, which will continue to be necessary for the foreseeable future.
